(December 22nd, 2017) Wow, what a change with new ownership, pictured below is two separate arrangements, one year apart, one from this year and one from last year. For the past two years I have sent a floral arrangement to parents for Christmas as I live 3500 kms. away and cannot make it home for Christmas. Last year we asked for a centerpiece to be delivered to my parents for $75.00 taxes and delivery included (2016 picture), and we were very happy with what was delivered, the presentation was well done, and it included over 40 various flowers and a single red candle. This year I called and asked for a similar centerpiece to be done and delivered to my parents the same as last year and when they called, my parents decided to pick up the arrangement instead of it being delivered, so there was now no $10.00 delivery charge. When my father picked up the flowers they advised him that they had added extra flowers to make up for the delivery charge. This centerpiece is very small and includes 18 flowers in total. Bearing in mind that this new centerpiece has 3 roses in it, but 18 flowers none the less. It is sitting on a desert plate in the picture because it was send in a plastic box with wet foam, not even a vase. When I called to discuss the arrangement with Berna Deans, they were initially very apologetic and said that they would do up another arrangement and have it sent to my parents. Half an hour later the old owner, who is now an employee of the new owners called me back and said I potentially owed them an additional $1.85 because I had gotten more flowers that what I had paid for and sorry, but you get what you pay for and that arrangement was built to cost and that is that. I grew up in The Pas and have been buying flowers on and off from Berna Deans for over 30 years, and never have I ever had such poor customer service. Please note that it was not always like this as the pictures show, the old ownership took pride in what they do and produced a great respectable product. New buyers to Berna Deans, beware, the pictures speak for themselves. (I had to give them one star or it would not let me post my review, they don't deserve one star)
What a great gift shop and flower store. We stopped in to order some flowers and were surprised to see all the awesome gift and decor items in the store. We were extremely happy with the the flowers and the service. A must go to place for us when we come back.
